Problem with smalls ends / spikes
Hi all,
I have my prusa mini now for about 3 month any came alone one problem I cannot solve and don't know how to search for it 😞
I printed these: https://www.printables.com/model/247723-ikea-antilop-leg-holder
Overall it is working but the printer is not going in up the edges all the way to the "spike". It stops where the two layer met and moves on. When done with these it jumps to the spike. This leads to the situation that the outer points are not really connected to the rest. It is very thin and weak in the area where the arrow is on the picture below.
I am pretty sure that this is not a printer but a slicer problem but I couldn't find a solution so far.
Any ideas?
Thanks
RE: Problem with smalls ends / spikes
save your slicer setup as a Project file, (.3mf file) ZIP Compress the file, and attach it to your next post, and we can have a look at your STL and settings, which may give us some clues as to what the issue, is!

RE: Problem with smalls ends / spikes
As Joan said, uploading the 3mf will allow us to make more educated suggestions. From the image I suspect that part is just too thin. One thing I'd try is to switch from Arachne to Classic slicing mode.
Also, any model for which the only image is a render, not a photo of an actual print, is suspicious in my mind.

RE: Problem with smalls ends / spikes
Thanks for you help. Yes maybe it is to thin, but I had a similar problem before where I was pretty sure it should have worked. I'll try it without Arachne.
RE: Problem with smalls ends / spikes
I justed learend that I can simulate the print (still learning new things every time) and disabling Arachne does the trick. Thanks a lot.
RE: Problem with smalls ends / spikes
In my view, Arachne was released way too early. When it works, it's great, but I found there to be way too many situations in which it is—shall we say—"suboptimal".
