PC-Carbon Fibre trouble with top layers

I'm having trouble with getting a reasonable finish or successful print on the top layers of prints using Prusament PC-CF in my Mini using a 0.4 hardened nozzle.

All of my prints have been printing fine and even prints with a narrow top surface are fine but as soon as the top surface gets to a span of say 10mm then the layer breaks up.

The same model prints fine in PLA and PETG but won't print in PC-CF.

I'm using the Prusa profiles for PC-CF and slicing on Prusa Slicer.

Anyone got any ideas on what I'm doing wrong with this one?

Wht infill density are you using?

Either add another top layer or two, or increase the fill density - adaptive cubic should prevent some waste.

25% infill and 6 top layers.

It also had trouble with the top layer of the supports.  I've tried speeding up and slowing down feeds but doesn't seem to make any real difference.

Tried some 100% infill models that printed perfectly, also tried a large overhang that also printed fine so not sure why this is such a pain.

It looks like the layer doesn't stick to the infill/support top layer so the extrusion catches and sticks up like little hairs so the next layer also catches on these and repeats the problem.

Default slicer profile says no fan so might try playing with the cooling fan on those layers.

Try 35-40% with adaptive cubic.  Only the top infill layers will be at that density.

That much PC-CF as support material makes me want to cry…
