[Solved] Issue with first layer.

Issue with first layer.

I have an issue with the first layer about halfway through I start to get waves on the first layer. the waves seem to become consistent with various xy positions on the bed. 

Bed is washed with isopropanol between prints. 

Printing experience:

1 months with the mini 

Configuration:

Printer: Prusa Mini+

Deviations from standard: None, original nozzle, original PINDA sensor,

Case description:

Modeled in fusion 360. exported as STL

Slicer:  PrusaSlicer 2.3.0 standard settings

Filament used: PolyliteGold  ( https://filaments.ca/collections/3d-filaments/products/polylite-pla-silk-gold-1-75mm-1kg) and FLEX PLA white from filaments.ca ( https://filaments.ca/collections/3d-filaments/products/flexible-pla-filament-white-1-75mm?variant=1456963190792)

Printer setup: standard 

Print setup: Print temp 215, bed temp 60, Speed is standard: first layer is 15 mm/s, ventilation none. 

Things I have tried: 

I have cleaned the printer, run the first level calibration many times, with live auto adjust see the second picture for details.

@fuchsr sure, waves normally indicate "too low" but look at the pics. In this case the waves are caused by "too high", the filament moves around as it is laid down on the bed instead of being squished. You can also see it on the skirt: not squished.

@bob live Z-offset is the same variable you tune in first layer calibration... you need a higher offset = lower nozzle.

Thumbs up for a complete description of your setup!

Your first layer is too high. You need to rerun first layer calibration and increase the offset quite a bit.

If at first you don't succeed, skydiving is not for you.

I usually consider waves a tell tale sign of the nozzle being too *low* (hey, it's 3d printing, so of course you're going to get conflicting opinions).  I'm not sure what I'm looking at on the calibration square. Are these different live Z offsets? Or is live z the same across the square? In which case this looks pretty bad and I would check the printer for XZ skew.

they are live Z-offsets. 

initial was 1.603

then went down to 1.580

then back to 1.612

I'm still not making much sense of the calibration square. The OP didn't mark where he had which Live Z. The right lower side is not quite there yet but getting there. The middle is awful as is the left upper part, which if I understand the OP's last post should (almost) the same as the beginning. I'm just not seeing it. If the square were marked, it would help.

I reprinted the configuration square and you were right @robin the z-offset was too high.

 

I started at 1.590 and went up in increments of .01 until i reached 1.710  and now I m currently re-printing the case. Thanks So much for all your help
