How would you slice this one

Hi All,

First post here, recently received my mini+ last week and the build was an absolute pleasure.  I've made 10+ prints that have all been far superior to that from my now retired ender 3, that i spent forever leveling and tinkering to get average prints.  Needless to say I'm a prusa convert.

This has me now expirementing with prints that would never be possible on the ender.

How would you slice these simple hooks, they are quite small and the mini is printing but the side on the raft is fairly poor quality.

Thanks in advance for any tips!

RE: Raft

Why are you sing a raft?  I would kick the raft and just use supports.  It should stick.

Use these settings:

  • 0.25mm z distance.
  • 75% xy distance.
  • 3mm support spacing.
  • 4 interface layers.

If this does not work, upload the file and I will try and print it.

  • 0.2mm interface layer spacing.

For parts with a round cross section, I use the PrusaSlicer cut function to create a top and bottom half.  Print flat side down, then glue the halves together with superglue.  The seam is barely noticeable, if at all.

This should print just fine with the support settings @cwbullet suggested. And yes, ditch that raft. If you need a raft, your first layer calibration is off.
