Does anyone know what could be causing this globbing and stringing I am seeing?
I have recently been seeing major globbing and stringing on my prusa mini with PLA, it did not use to do this.
I looked online for help as to why, and I have already done the following:
- Cold pull the filament
- Replaced the nozzle ( it had hundreds of hours of printing on it anyways )
- Tried a new spool of filament
- Reduced the temperature of the PLA while printing to 190C
- Increased the retraction as I saw some videos showing that those settings helped
- Slightly increased the move speed of the printer when not printing
After all that, a string test still results in what is seen in the attached image. Does anyone know what could be the issue?
EDIT: I have noticed that when the printer is heated up but idle, some filament is still extruding. I am assuming this may be a pressure issue? If so, does anyone know how to fix that?

This is a disease of a small and sharp objects I would advice to try jsut put on bed one more object of some shape ( cube?) same height as your model to give the chance to the nozzle to extrude some strings to this object. Or just multiply the number of your objects.

Your filament is damp. Look up threads on how to dry it.

Also, the oozing you're seeing idling at temperature is normal. Needle nosed pliers are your best friend to help with that.
