Confused by TPU settings
Hi,
I have some Sainsmart TPU, which prints OK, but I am trying to improve it. Everything I read says print real slow, typically 20mm/s but if I look at the settings in Prusa Slicer I see nothing close to 20. What specifically should I change?
Isn't the idea of the profiles to customize these settings, have I missed somthing?
Thanks
Paul
RE: Confused by TPU settings
To define the maximum speed for a specific material in PrusaSlicer you use the Max Volumetric Speed setting.
It adjusts/limits the print speeds automatically, so you don't have to tweak any other settings.
RE: Confused by TPU settings
Ah thanks, that's very useful, I was not aware of that setting. I'm just starting a print, have lowered it to 20mm/s and have added the Avoid Crossing Perimeters to reduce stringing.
Lets see how it comes out

@paulb
I am having issues as well with my Hatchbox TPU. Mostly Jamming, and layer adhesion. How did you fix go?
RE: Confused by TPU settings
I used to be able to print with stock profile but lately getting lots of jams - im gonna also play with MVS - gonna go for 1.0 and work my way up
RE: Confused by TPU settings
I must admit, with those settings, on 10mm detail with no crossing perimeters, and the MVS settings, i've been having some good success.
Here's a phone case I just printed, used as a test ground for the 5 Sainssmart TPU filament pack.
RE: Confused by TPU settings
I also changed the Contact Z distance in the supports section to 3mm, it makes them removable.
RE: Confused by TPU settings
What mvs setting did you use?

@jn-barten
I used 1 then went to 1.2 and was successful where previously I was not
