ABS and PETG wont stick

Need help, at my wits end here. I am trying to print the file in the pictures below, It needs to be PETG or ABS. I have been printing with ABS for the last week with a variety of prints and had very few if any issues. this one however just will not print no matter what I try. I have calibrated my Z offset, I have tried ABS with gluestick on the smooth sheet, wont stick, and PETG on a 91% alchohol cleaned textured sheet and the same result happens on both sheets, the brim only gets a few rows and the whole thing peels up and blobs on the nozzle.  I have done multiple first layer tests with no issues

first layer

Nearly all failed adhesions are one of two things:

  1. Smeared dirty bed - I clean my with Dawn dish soap and water once every week or so and after every print with 99% IPA.
  2. A Z offset or Live Z that is not 100% perfect - I do the first layer calibration until it is perfect and then I print this file.

Good luck

first layer

I wash the sheets with dawn every other day, and wipe with 91% alchohol.

I will try that print you linked

re

ran a first layer test which was fine, and printed the file you linked, it seemed to print ok. i have since printed two other things and both succeeded. the only change I can see is that I am using the default 0.20 Quality preset and ABS prints ok. if I try the 0.10 DETAIL or 0.07 ULTRADETAIL it will not print with ABS

What are you using as seperator; is that gluestick?  If so you are using too much.  Starting from a clean sheet wipe a line of gluestick across the plate then spread it with a wet paper wipe, or spray with water then wipe, so that you have an even, thin coating.

For PETG a a quick spray of window cleaner, again spread over all, is enough.

It's a little hard to judge your first layer from those pictures; at the end of the calibration you are aiming to print a single layer *sheet*. It should be possible to peel it off in one and fold it without the threads seperating. If it breaks into lines it is too high, not squished enough. If it is a single sheet but with wavy lines or drag marks on it you are too low.

Cheerio,
