Z-Offset Maxed Out

Two more fun problems with my week old printer.

1. After having to constantly lower my z offset I am not at the max of -2.000 and can go no lower. My printers are failing now because the nozzle is too far from the bed and I can not lower it anymore. I tried to do another first layer calibration and reset the offset to zero. It just prints in mid air when I do that. How do I remedy this issue? Do I physically raise the probe up so the nozzle gets closer? Absolutely insane.

My secondary problem is that I am not regularly getting a warning main print that the bed cant heat to the proper level. Amazing, one week old printer and its already this messed up.

What is the policy on refunds?

You've certainly been unlucky with your printer.

1. Yes you need to adjust the Minda probe height. See the last step of https://help.prusa3d.com/en/guide/how-to-replace-a-m-i-n-d-a-sensor-mini_115145

2. Sounds like a bad connection or a failed sensor / bed. I would suggest using the web chat on the e-shop page to talk to support, they will help you with troubleshooting and dispatch any spares that may be required. They should also be able to help you with the refund question.

I hope you get this sorted out quickly and can either start enjoying using the Mini, or find a printer that better suits your expectations.

Good info, I followed the instructions and my z offset is maxed out again, but at least the first layer stuck this time. Very odd to me how off the probe is. Seems like this should be something set in software to know that it is placing the nozzle way too high in the air. Obviously they did not expect you to have to calibrate it beyond 2mm.

If you've adjusted the probe height and you're still maxing it out then something else is wrong! I'd suggest either posting a picture of the probe / nozzle to see if anybody has a suggestion or having a chat with Prusa support.

Yeah, I am contacting Prusa now. I need a refund. 4 hours into a print and I get an error that "Requested bed temperature was not reached." The bed temp is 58C when it needs to be 60C and it cancelled my print. I have wasted so much money on filament it is nuts.

Sorry to hear it's not worked out for you. Good luck with whichever printer you buy to replace it.

Too bad.  I have a mini and have nothing but success.  It compares superiorly to just about every printer that I own other than the MK3s.

I suspect you will not get a refund, but you could place it on eBay.

We are all aware you are a fan boy of the mini. Every thread you make sure to mention how great it is and how it is the users fault. I get it. Prusa makes nothing but perfect printers and I just suck. Message heard friend.

Obviously you are trying to insult me.  The name calling just confirms you lack of intelligence.  Maybe you should find and easier hobby.

He was literally trying to help you and you resorted to being a jerk? Sincerely hope you found a different printer and not another Prusa. This is a great bunch of people and we don't need this kind of immature and toxic behavior.

The last post in this thread was over two years ago. I think everything has worked itself through by now. 😉

Moderators, is there a way to lock these old threads?
