Z-Axis selftest fail
Hi,
I have a problem. After performing selftest of xyz-axis, z-axis shows fail. X and Y-axis are ok. The printed displayed that Z-height at the end of test was at 193,36 mm. No tension, when moving by hand was noticed. Also wires doesn't seem to make a tension. Someone have an idea what to do?
RE: Z-Axis selftest fail
home all axes then measure the distance between the Z carriage and the Z top, in short the amount of vertical rod exposed, add to this quote the z value shown in the display (usually 2.00). Then compare this value to 193.36 shown in the dispaly when at top of z axis.
if reported value equals real dimension the hotend is wrongly assembled as may be the distance heatsink-heatblock is too short.
if the real dimension is shorter than reported the z axis motor is missing steps and the pcb believes the axis moved more than what it actually did. In this case check the two leadscrew t nut screws, may be too tight.
RE: Z-Axis selftest fail
Hi,
Problem solved. The distance heatsink-heatblock was too short.
Thank you for help.
