Y- axis has lost it's mind!

Apparently - the zero point of the Y-axis does not appear to be correctly "set" to begin it's current location movement count.

The resulting behavior: frequent random position motor lockups accompanied by heavy clicking noise until movement stops. Hand positioning of the bed at either end mitigates behavior, but often subsequently results in less than the +180 position  and/or a +0 to -3 positioning of the bed.

attempts to correct: verify current firmware (4.3.1+), 'endless' belt adjustments, reinstall Y-belt idler unit, checked motherboard connections, verified no observable wire or other impediments, discussed, demanded, urged, pleaded, and finally wrote to "contact us" 3 weeks ago (as yet no response).

just want to remove the red "X" on the selftest to begin using the device.

RE: Y- axis has lost it's mind!

I realize your specific issue might not be fixed so easily (and you probably tried that already), but I've already noticed my Y-axis trying to go past its limit, with the accompanying heavy clicking noise you describe, after manipulating the Y-axis manually. Going in "Calibration" and homing the print head seemed to fix the issue (it seems to test for the Y-axis limits when doing that).

In any case, I'm curious to know what the issue is on your printer.

Thanks forinmike for taking time to help. Yes, I did stumble across homing in Calibration and used it. but unfortunately, after it put me on position 24, no good utimately came from it after further testing - still had the dreaded red "X". Currently in process of LiveChat and perhaps that will ultimately yield some good result. I'll try to remember to followup with you after unraveling the problem.  Thanks again, Bill, the old man
