X Axis Stepper Motor
I need to replace my stepper motor. I started a print to find the X-axis wire pulled out when I returned. Any idea of the specs of this motor?

RE: X Axis Stepper Motor
It looks like a standard NEMA 17 - but with a bespoke cable.
Most come with socket in the stepper body so it's straightforward to modify the supplied cable for length.
The X axis doesn't do a great deal of work so, as long as you avoid the very cheapest. you should be OK.

Thanks. I tried a could already. They won't work. I order a couple LDO 1.8 motors.

I found this on their github;
Hope it helps.

The Prusa LDO stepper motors are directly wired (no plug). I think this one should fit:
Which LDO-set did you order for the Mini?

RE: X Axis Stepper Motor
I tried a couple more stepper motors. I had an extra Creality X stepper. It would not spin. It did this off jumping as I tried to get to spin.
I also tried:

- https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07GDBMT1D/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
- https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0817T5SRH/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
These all did the same thing. I wonder if the wiring is different for a Creality and Prusa Motor.

The only difference i can see that might be critical, is the rated current. 6.5v for the prusa/ldo and between 3.6 and 4.8 for those on amazon.
I might have missed something, or if they are speced differently to eachother.

I wonder if there is any wiring difference.

If you use other steppers, I would check if the connections match the pin assignment on the buddyboard (A, A-, B, B-). The colors of the wires will probably not match and you may have to change the cable positions.

RE: X Axis Stepper Motor
NEMA 17 specifies only the motor mount. Electrical specifications differ wildly between NEMA17 motors. Voltage, Amperes and wiring must match, also steps/r can differ, 32, 64, 200 and 400 are all quite common. I didn't find electrical specs for Prusa Mini steppers.
UPDATE: cwbullet has already found the document with stepper specs. All similar steppers should work, but you might need to look your replacements documentation to get wiring to match the original.

@karl-herbert
Thanks. I will try that tonight.

Have you found another source for the Prusa Mini motors?
Was going to try and give these a try and order the whole set as am having problems with the x axis.

Hi,
Did you find a viable replacement?
RE: X Axis Stepper Motor
These are the specifications of the Prusa Mini motors. A replacement motor should have similar specifications.
Maybe you will find something suitable here or here.

Karl
