Under Extrusion?

Forgive me, new to printing and running out of ideas....

I'm having an odd issue with my printer after it has set idle for about a month. My print jobs seem to start fine and then after a few layers start to fall apart. I'm now to a point where 4-5 hours into a job it will just stop extruding all together.

Things I have tried:

- Different filament

- New nozzle

- Cold pulls multiple times

- Different temperatures (both up and down in 5c increments) for PLA

- Different speed settings (down to 40%)

- Different hot end fan settings

- I've disassembled the hot end and re-seated the feed tube, making sure to avoid any gaps

- Confirmed there is no buildup in the hot end during disassembly

- Adjusted the extruder feed tension up and down with no improved result

- Checked belt tension on X and Y

To my untrained eye, it seems like there is potentially heat creep causing an issue? Before the job fails mid-print I get the standard clicking that it can't push the filament through.

Does this look like 2 issues? One fore the uneven extruding and one for the (I assume) blockage at mid-print?

Any help would be appreciated!

David

RE: Under Extrusion?

The last thing to do is take the extruder apart and check that it's not gummed up and running smoothly. Other than that it looks like you tried everything.

Dry your filament and run another test.  The damp is obscuring many of the symptoms we usually look for.

Cheerio,
