Troubleshooting stringing

A little bit ago, my Prusa Mini+ started having stringing issues. Mild at first but it got more noticeable as I started printing minis for D&D in PLA. I know “wet filament” is often the first response but it happened with a roll right out of the plastic as well (plus, Bay Area basements are typically pretty dry). It’s happened with Prusament PLA as well as eSun PLA+.

I was able to get a test print almost stringing free by setting the temps to 190/185, but that’s already way below esun’s recommendation. I tried adjusting retraction speed to 80mm with no appreciable difference (constant temp of 215/210). Likewise setting retraction distance to 4.2mm

I’ve attached photos of the normal one and the one at 195/190. (190/185 the strings were thin enough that they broke when I touched them). both printed at .20mm, though the minis were at .1. As far as I know, all my retraction settings (indeed all the settings) are the same as when I set up the printer a couple years ago, and it’s been a champ.

Thanks in advance for advice.

RE: Troubleshooting stringing

Suggestions in other venues involved replacing the nozzle. It's probably been around several hundred hours since I got mine, so maybe that's it. I've ordered new nozzles and am just waiting for them to ship.
