Tiny "popping" sound during printing?

I hear tiny pop sounds as my Prusa Mini+ is printing. I suspect they are air bubbles making their way through the extruder; I have observed the popping sound occur while the first layer of the skirt of a given print is going down, and the pops appeared to correlate with small gaps in the skirt.

Is this a known issue? Are there any fixes? Thanks much!

You likely need to dry the filament. When it absorbs water, the water boils when it hits the hot end, making little bubbles and the noise.  There are several solutions. I use a food dehydrator.

Never would have thought of moisture causing the popping, but it makes sense. The filament is pretty fresh out of the tin, so it would have likely come that way from the retailer. Will try another spool and see if the issue persists -- thank you for the thought.

Plastic absorbs moisture from the air. It will happen all the time. There are many reports of moisture in new filament. Drying your filament ALWAYS results in better prints, in so many ways. I always dry before printing.
