Textured sheet - 1st layer not sticking
Disclaimer: New to all this 3D printing stuff
I bought a Prusa textured sheet, thinking that it might improve my printing. I mounted it and started the first layer calibration and the last little square that get printed is just terrible - not sticking to the sheet and just a mess. I tried lowering the Z height but that did not seem to help. Is there some preparation I need to do to the textured sheet before use?
RE: Textured sheet - 1st layer not sticking
The textured sheet is much thinner than the smooth sheet. On my I3 I had to lower my z-offset -0.300 to get a good first layer. Run the first layer calibration and post a photo of it here.

The textured sheet is much thinner than the PEI one, so you must probably go even lower to get a proper squish. I'd bet that's the issue even if you already tried a lower Z. On my MINI with the stock PINDA height the ideal Z was almost -2.0. Other than that just ensure the sheet is not greasy by cleaning it with isopropyl alcohol once in a while.

Just repeating what was said. The textured sheet is thinner, you will need to go lower. Perhaps try this calibration file to give more time to get live z set: https://www.prusaprinters.org/prints/20306-first-layer-calibration

RE: Textured sheet - 1st layer not sticking
I've found that the textured sheet works best when the Z is 'tuned' just to the point that, when a test square is viewed from the bottom, the 'brush strokes' of the extrusion lines just blend in to the pattern of the sheet.
Yes, the Z for the textured sheet will be a LOT lower than for the smooth one.

I downloaded the calibration file but its settings are for the MK3S. Can I just change the printer to the Mini+ ?
RE: Textured sheet - 1st layer not sticking
Yes, just switch to the Mini. It worked fine on mine. The main thing is it's a single layer 3x3 inch square; that give you 13 minutes to fiddle with the z height.
