Prusa Mini+ Y stepper motor locks up

Hi,

Looking to see if anyone here has had this problem. Been having issues with layer shifting on the Y axis for some time now. Never really troubleshot it because I do have another printer that I've been using in it's place. I want to start using my Mini again but I'm still having the issue. Today, as I was printing, I noticed the bed stopped moving all together, it basically was extruding over the same line over and over. When I stopped the print, all the axis moved back to position except the bed. I tried moving the bed manually to no success. Powered off the machine and tried, no go. I removed the belt from the Y axis at both ends and the bed glided fine. When I try to turn the pulley on the Y motor, it did not budge. This is the first time that I could not get it to move at all. I took the Y motor off the chassis and was finally able to spin it after applying some force to it. I put everything back together and the bed moves but it still sticks at random location on the Y axis. This is while the printer is off.

Anyone have an idea if this is fixable? I have feeling I may need to replace the motor.  Just looked online and it's going to be $37 to replace it. I've had this machine a little over a year and a half and seems like the motor did not last very long. I've had my other printer for over two years and haven't had to replace anything on it, which I'm very surprised.

Anyway, I really appreciate the help on this and thanks in advance.
