Prusa mini +, klicking noise from extruder
Hi!
I have a Prusa Mini +, it has been running nicely for approx 20 hours but today the printer is under extruding a lot, and there is a klicking noise from the extruder. This happened between two prints, im still using the same filament. I opened up the extruder, but it lookes nice.
The extruder knocked eaven when filament wasnt inside the nossle(during loading), but other than taking it appart and putting it back together again i didnt do anything except cleaning out the hole where the filament enters the extruder from the plastic tube. The first thing i tried was re-adjusting the idler tension, but this didnt do anything.
Now it looks like the problem was solved, but i have no idea why. Have you guys experienced anything like this?
RE: Prusa mini +, klicking noise from extruder
Hi,
I’ve had to secure the (small) drive-gear on the extruder motor shaft once on a newly-bought Mini. After a few hours of printing it had shifted on the shaft, so there was hardly any contact with the (larger) extruder gear, hence the weird sound.
All the best, M
