Prusa link quesiton - API key
my printer is asking for the API key each time I log in - is there a way to disable this? I just want to have access not have to type in random letters and numbers each time. Its all on a private VLAN on the network so security isn't an issue. I have almost given up and just started moving the USB key between the computer and printer
RE: Prusa link quesiton - API key
There's at least one open ticket on Github. Devs say it will be fixed in the next release. It's SUPER annoying.

RE: Prusa link quesiton - API key
Did this get fixed in v4.4.1 ?
There's no mention in the changeling.
RE: Prusa link quesiton - API key
Doesn't appear fixed in v4.4.1 which is disappointing....I'm still being repeatedly prompted for the api key.
Using latest Safari on latest macOS.

No, it didn't get fixed ☹️ ☹️☹️

RE: Prusa link quesiton - API key
Is it possible to add the API key as parameter in der URL?

Do you use PrusaSlicer? You can link your printer directly in PrusaSlicer, and after you slice you can upload from PrusaSlicer to your printer, without using PrusaLink. You can either upload, or upload & print. PrusaSlicer remembers the API.
However, you can only upload, you can't view storage or printer status through PrusaSlicer. Still, it avoid needing to move the USB drive back and forth.

Apparently still not resolved in 4.5.0.

RE:
Late to the party here, but just as a general piece of advice for people building a simple system like this...
Don't make it an input prompt. Don't make it a password field. Don't use javascript. Instead, use "basic authentication" which has been in browsers since before images or URL arguments were. Every browser will save this for you, every web server will implement this for you without effort, and it's just as secure as a clear-text password.
RE: Prusa link quesiton - API key
Printer checks specific header X-Api-Key in the requests and just passes it furher.
In chrome it is saved on the first request and is used until browser is closed
See my GitHub and printables.com for some 3d stuff that you may like.
RE: Prusa link quesiton - API key
Yes very annoying.
As a work around I have created the browser bookmark like: http://192.168.1.50/?api_key_here
Then it´s a simple copy (key part in url) and paste to enter the key in to the field
RE: Prusa link quesiton - API key
Thanks for this tip, I did the same now so I never have to loop up that API key
