RE: Printing crashed with message: webServerTask. Precise data access error, precise bot. Any ideas?
@zoltan
To compile the firmware I use a self made script and call the process as follows:
python $source/build.py --generate-bbf
As I said, this usually always works flawlessly. For this I have specially set up a small experimental laptop with Ubuntu 20.04, so that I do not have to burden my W10 PC with it.

For flashing after you built the FW you must use the emptyboot.....bbf file

@zoltan
I always use this *.bbf file for flashing:
what's the difference between the *.bbf in "products" folder and "mini_release_emptyboot" folder?

Very interesting thread. Karl: Why did you remove the appendix?

As with the MK3, I would also like to change the Mini firmware to adapt it to my needs. To do this, I have already changed some firmware blocks, which of course only works if the seal is removed from the buddyboard. The loss of warranty is not important to me.
Nevertheless, I think it's good that Prusa has made firmware interventions more difficult in this way, especially with regard to interventions in the temperature control. I never changed anything on the temperature management myself, only the Mini nozzle self-test (increased the delay time from 30 to 40 seconds because of my mounted E3D V6).

@karl-herbert
Not to change anything with temperatures is very wise.
What other interesting changes did you manage?

@zoltan
What other interesting changes did you manage?
- increased bedmaxtemp from 100 to 110 (installed 320W Meanwell PU; printing PC and Nylon)
- changed extruder esteps, microsteps and direction of rotation (selfdesigned extruder with neodym magnets and filamentsensor)
- filamentsensor signal inverted
- changed homing pos.
- changed filament loading length
- active M500 functions
- changed preheat settings
and so on...
- just for fun - Prusamini logo individualized:
Overall, nothing great, but it is exciting to study the structure of the firmware.

I like the change to the display. I would screw it up and have a printer that no longer works.

Of course, this can only be done if you remove the appendix, which most people probably won't do.
The logos can easily be changed with e.g. MS Paint, but you should not change the pixel size. For the conversion (from *.png to *.c) I wrote a small C routine. With this, the process is quite simple and fast.

Of course you have to know what you can change and what not. The system is a bit more complex than the mk3s one. To the majority I recommend not to break appendix and flash the original FW.

That is probably true. In general, you should know what you are changing. But I think that for the majority of users this is not a theme anyway.
