Got my first watchdog reset error

Woke up this morning to a watchdog reset error. I've never had this error before and it looks like the print was 5 hours in to a 9 hour print. I've reset and started the print over.  I am not using the supplied USB thumb drive. I'm using one that has proven reliable for almost a hundred prints. The only change I've made is that yesterday I updated to 4.2 FW. I wish the error description was more thorough. In the group's experience, what are the most likely causes of this error?

Watchdog reset is a blanket "waited too long for something to happen". The "something" can be a number of different things, with very different causes, anything from a hardware fault, faulty usb stick, bad gcode, bad input from comms, LAN activity, firmware error.

Given you recently upgraded firmware, I would try reverting to previous version.

Just an update for anyone who's interested. After a reset, the second attempt at the print was successful. Just to be on the safe side, I reformated the flash drive (full format, not quick). No errors were reported. Unfortunately, I started a print last night and woke up to a crash dump screen that looks like it occurred half way through the print. I will downgrade the FW version back to 4.1 and see if that fixes the problem.
