RE: preview thumbnails not showing?

I just went into my [printer settings]  in FIRMWARE section, "G-code thumbnails" and hit the padlock to revert to default for each of my USER PRESETS and it fixed it.

I had to do each preset, one at a time.

Slicer 2.7  Firmware 6.0

At least it finally took. I can't get the thing to update the firmware at all. Refuses to budge. Tried every thumb drive in the house. Not sure how many you're supposed to try before you find one that works or decide the printer is the problem.

What finally took? If  you use the quote function you can include part of a previous posting so we know what you are referencing.

Have you tried this procedure:

https://forum.prusa3d.com/forum/hardware-firmware-and-software-help/firmware-update-for-mini-from-4-3-4-to-5-1-0/#post-692170

Then continue on to the latest firmware?

Regards,

Mark

RE: preview thumbnails not showing?

What finally took, the firmware updates... And yes, of course I've tried that procedure. Multiple times. With multiple thumb drives, all high quality, all of which have been formatted multiple times, thus my comment about not knowing how many of the things I need to buy and try before deciding maybe the printer is just too junky to update itself.

I used to tell people that the mini was great because it just worked, but issues like these are becoming more common, and several-step firmware updates that give vague instructions (ie, keep trying other thumb drives until you find one that works) aren't great.

I've given up on thumbnails and will probably give up on trying to update the firmware until something just breaks completely, because it's not worth my time to continue trying to find the secret thumb drive that the mini might like.
