Newbie questions about printing ASA
Hello everybody,
I couldn't find an answer to my questions with the search function, so I am typing this out.
I have done some printing on my MINI+ with PLA and PETG, but want to get into ASA, because I read it can be more easily sanded afterwards.
The objects I plan to print will probably have a substantial printing time of 1-2 days. So my questions are:
-If I buy or build an enclosure for the MINI+ does it have to be completely airtight, because of the fumes emitted when printing ASA?
-Can the display unit of the printer stay inside of the enclosure? I saw some builds that put them outside.
-Do I need to keep an eye on the temperature (can it become too hot by itself?
These would be my main concerns before trying to print ASA, I'm thankful for any insights!
RE: Newbie questions about printing ASA
It does not have to be air-tight. I printed a HEPA filter that reduces fumes.
The printer generates enough heat by itself.

Thank you very much for your answer, I feel I can get into ASA printing, or at least get prepared for it.
My question about the temperature was more in the direction: If I have a very long print, can the inside of the enclosure get too hot?

@hayo-gebauer
I've never seen the temps in my enclosures go above 36 degrees C.

As for fumes, I would not worry too much about it. Keep the printer in a separate room and do not sleep be side it if possible, but you do not need an air-tight enclose.

@fuchsr
My enclosures go from 34-38C. Rare, but can go above 36 if printing PC Blend.
