New machine giving Err: MINTEMP error
Received my new Mini today and assembly seemed to go well.
On boot I get this error:
Err: MINTEMP error
The requested E1 temperature was not reached.
Nozzle temp: 12/20
Bed Temp 12/35
I have checked the wiring and everything seems to be wired correctly. Is this machine broken?
RE: New machine giving Err: MINTEMP error
that suggests the room temperature is 12C,
the printer is expecting about 15C so its complaining...
One person said they take a coffee to the garage and rest it on the build plate under the extruder and wait for the temperatures to rise, before printing,
Other folk use a hair drier, or space heater to warm the printer

It does bug me that there is inconsistency between Prusa products. The Mk3 changed from 15 degree's to 10 some time ago and you would of thought the Mini should follow the same. It sure has been a loooooooooooong time since the previous Mini firmware release!

Needs to be 16 degrees min. At 15 mine alarms. I have a small fan heater I give it a bit of a blast with. Mines in my office which I don't heat at the weekend so often gets really cold. I wouldn't try printing ABS with a room temp that low even in my enclosure.

Joan, I liked your story of the guy putting a cup of tea next to the PINDA probe on cold mornings. Very civilized.

I miss English tea. I am not sure where I can get a cup in the US. Definitely not gonna find clotted cream and scones.

@texy
I read somewhere on the forum that someone had built a version of 4.3.0 and the min temp has been reduced to 10, so we will have consistency eventually 😀 .

@gordon-w
I have not read that.

@joantabb
I looked MK3S at the recent 3.9.1 version on GITHUB and it should already have mintemp 1O °C not sure how this is with MK2 and 2,5. For the last two does not make sense as they have less powerfull heaters and often having "temperature not reached - heating failed" problems even at 15°C.
