Mintemp error print head #12208 brand new Mini+

So we just got a Mini+ and out of the box it has intermittently had the Mintemp error at the hot end. Power cycling the printer seems to resolve the issue and then it works. We’ve been able to complete the calibration and do a couple test prints.

Due to the intermittent nature of the error I am thinking it’s a wiring issue but I am open to suggestions.

Also, how should the cables that come from the buddy board and go to the hot end be positioned when the z axis is low as in printing a first layer? We got the semi-assembled version and the cables naturally want to rest on the heatbed. I have been tucking them under the heatbed but then it rubs on them as the heatbed moves during the print. I assume that’s not ideal.

Thanks for any insight!

If you just got it, don't waste your time on the interwebs. Get on the chat with Prusa Support by logging into your Prusa account. That's what you've paid the big bucks for. And if it' a hardware problem it's a warranty issue. They're 24x7 even though now it's holiday season so they may have other hours.

in the meantime if you want to post a picture of the cables we can tell you what's wrong with them.

Thanks! I will definitely hit up support. Didn’t hurt to check in here in the off chance there was a known issue or an obvious fix.

As for the wires, I think I am going to disconnect them and see if I can get them to twist away from the the print bed instead of towards it. That might not be a huge issue…

Nothing obviously wrong in this picture, so yes, just twist the cables a bit differently and you should be fine.
