Mini PSU connector...
Hello dear people,
does anyone know the exact description of the plug of the Mini Power Supply or where you can buy it?
I want to use a stronger 24V power supply (Meanwell RSP 320-24, I have at home) but I don't want to destroy the original Mini Power Supply.
Thanks for your efforts!
wbr,
Karl

It's known as a Power DIN 4 position, e.g. https://www.cuidevices.com/product/interconnect/connectors/dc-power-connectors/din/pdp-40

Many thanks for the link! i will have a look at this and think that this connector (solder version) is also available in our latitudes.
@bobcousins - With the PDP40 i'm not sure. It has two thinner pins. I think that's the right one: https://vetco.net/products/4-pin-mini-din-kycon-snap-and-lock-dc-power-connector

Seems weird but the image is wrong, the datasheet shows the correct pins.
I think the Kycon KPPX-4P part is the standard version used by Meanwell, so probably a safer bet. Also at Digikey https://www.digikey.com/product-detail/en/kycon-inc/KPPX-4P/2092-KPPX-4P-ND/9990085

Thanks again! I found the same site, the same product here: https://www.digikey.at/product-detail/de/kycon-inc/KPPX-4P/2092-KPPX-4P-ND/9990085
Rated current up to 7.5A is ok 👍 👍

I have just ordered the part in Austria. The delivery is from the USA - 18 Euro shipping costs, 2.50 Euro parts costs. Anyway, I ordered several parts (sockets and plugs).

RE: Mini PSU connector...
According to the BOM (https://github.com/prusa3d/Buddy-board-MINI-PCB/blob/master/rev.1.0.0/ibom.html )" target="true"> http://htmlpreview.github.io/?https://github.com/prusa3d/Buddy-board-MINI-PCB/blob/master/rev.1.0.0/ibom.html) the SOCKET is a Mini-DIN-4-KPJX (footprint KPJX-4S) which seems to match 🙂

Thanks for the link - got an error: Error: Cannot load https://raw.githubusercontent.com/prusa3d/Buddy-board-MINI-PCB/master/rev.1.0.0/ibom.html): 404 Not Found
but no problem. I have already ordered these parts for all cases:
2092-KPPX-4P-ND
2092-KPJX-PM-4S-S-ND
2092-KPJX-4S-S-ND
2092-KPJX-PM-4S-ND
thanks for your efforts!!

Glad you got the parts sorted. In case anyone looks at this thread in the future the BOM is at https://github.com/prusa3d/Buddy-board-MINI-PCB clicking on the 'interactive bom' link will show the information!

Good and helpful link, I just saw - part no. 86 - Thanks!

RE: Mini PSU connector...
On Wednesday afternoon I ordered the plugs and sockets from Digikey (USA) and received them today, Friday noon. Taxes and customs around 25 Euro is reasonable. Anyway, I need the parts and don't ask for the costs anymore.

RE: Mini PSU connector
What are the pin layout for this connector? The cable is damaged, and most of all like karl-herbert I would like to use a more capable psu. I don't want to connect the cable wires incorrectly and cause a polarity damage or worse.
Thank you

RE: Mini PSU connector
Thanks Karl,
Also what is the max voltage the mini buddy can handle? I'm thinking of increasing the input voltage and in order to lower the amperage, since high amps running continuously through delicate electronics isn't exactly the best, especially during long hours of print sessions.
What do you think of this?
RE: Mini PSU connector...
@karl-herbert
Did you get this to work? I'm replacing the PSU with a different one, and I ordered the cable connector KPPX-4P-ND.
However it does not fit the Prusa Mini onboard Power Jack!
I measured the original Prusa Mini+ connector on the Power Cord, and the diameter is 10mm.
The KPPX-4P-ND connector is 9.6mm so wont fit...
RE: Mini PSU connector...
Where did you buy the connector? The one I have ( https://www.digikey.at/de/products/detail/kycon-inc/KPPX-4P/9990085 ) fits exactly on the Buddy board.
9.6mm is correct (see datasheet): Datasheet-KPPX-4P-ND
Did you get the 4-pin variant delivered?
