Do you mean it is not giving you the option to flash the new firmware? Try this: as you reset the Mini with the USB in, when the first screen comes up, double click the scroll wheel. This is how you get it to recognize a previous version of firmware (if you wanted to downgrade), but maybe it will help in your case.

If that fails, maybe roll back to an older version (or re-flash 4.0.5) then try and update again.

Same issue red screen will not flash from any stick to any version

This may have to do with the firmware version, which is now on your mini.

If it is lower than version 4.4.1 then you cannot flash the latest updates.

You will need to install version 4.4.1 before you can continue updating.

I am currently running the 4.4.1 firmware. I have been unable to get the printer to update to 5.1.0. I have tried multiple USBs. It won't even revert to any other version I try to flash to it. Could it really just be the USBs? The printer can see the USBs and print from them, but no update ever starts when I reboot. I have checked the setting too on the Mini FW Update Setting.

Can anyone help? Which .bbf file in the 5.1.0 firmware zip is english? OR do all six unzipped files get loaded onto the usb for the final step in this final step of the mini v4.1 to v5.1 firmware update!?

The five files are each bilingual.

CS = Czech language

DE = German language

ES = Spanish language

FR = French language

IT = Italian language

PL = Polish language

EN = English language

So if you wish to use English menus, you can put one of the six files on your usb stick.

I fixed my issue, I went from 3 something to 5.1.0. on my Mini

You have to update in steps. I would do each one, as some have a boot loader update. As mine would not auto update, I pressed the reset button and spam clicked the selector nob, and got it to update. Took about 30min to do all, but was well worth it

Thank you for this thread!

I was way behind in my Original Mini Firmware updates, so I spent a bunch of time trying to get updates to work over the last few days using info I found here. 

Nothing I did would help ... I did learn to click the scroll wheel during start up. Message said Firmware was not compatible.

The FIX ... I was using my Windows 11 machine to download and unzip the files, after sleeping on it I thought I would try my old Windows 10 machine to download and unzip (extract).

That did it. 

As suggest here I loaded all the Firmware updates sequentially (was at 4.3.4 now at 6.0.1 with a few bootloader updates as well 1.10 to 2.3.4)

I hope this helps other.

I just wanted to express my gratitude for the links and guidance in this post. I was on the verge of frustration, but this helped me just upgrade from 4.3.1 to 6.1.2. Thank you!

A little late, but I found a fix to my issue. I update to 4.4.1 but still couldn't update to the latest. If you have an older .bbf version in your USB root, it wont read the newer version. I just deleted every .bbf file in the USB except the one I wanted and that fixed it.
