Mesh Bed Level issue with Y Axis

I am having an issue where on the back half of mesh bed leveling the Y axis is not moving.  It ends up doing the last two rows at the same Y as the second row.  But the printer believes Y has been advanced (the value goes up).  This results in grinding when printing the purge line of a first layer calibration.  I have tried it via the printer itself and OctoPrint, and it is the same result, and I can manually move the Y Axis through the whole range (i.e. it is not physically blocked). Here is a video:

Any ideas?

Another data point, if I "encourage" the bed to move for the last two rows of the mesh bed level by putting some additional pressure on the bed during those Y moves, it seems to make the move.  Maybe a bad Y stepper?

support said to make sure nothing was blocking the Y Axis and update firmware (already on 4.0.1).  Still waiting on second response.

I'm already looking forward to the support message ... hope you post it ...

you are using a USB extension? .. try flashing the firmware from the original usb input directly ...

errors can have a variety of causes ...

top rule ... always look for errors in their original state ...

So after going back and forth with support, they think it’s a firmware issue and want me to wait until the next release. Guess I’ll be patient.
