Major stringing issues, retraction settings?
Hey all, I just got myself a Prusa Mini+ and am having major stringing issues! I got the printer second hand off eBay so I'm not sure if this is a hardware or software issue. I have factory reset the printer and it is running the latest firmware.
I am running latest version of Prusa Slicer these seem to be the default retraction settings...
Do these look right? When I was browsing the stringing issue guides on Prusa Knowledge Base I came across retraction settings for the MK3S/+ which seemed wildly different from the Mini+
Can you guys recommend the first place to start hardware wise to try and get this thing running like new again? I'm going to be putting an order in on the Prusa shop with a few bits I can see need changing, but I'm not too clued up on these printers yet so any top tips would be welcome!
Please provide a picture s we can see what type of stinging is involved. Make sure your filament is dry to eliminate the commonest cause.
Cheerio,

Cheerio,
My filament is nice and dry, also tried lowering temps which didn't help. Incidentally, I can hear the machine clicking on retraction so I'm not sure if that is playing a role.

Clicking might mean the extruder tension is incorrect which would affect the retraction. See this article on screw adjustment:
OK, there is a little damp stringing there but it's not the main cause. I too suspect the extruder idler setting - it could be out either way. See the article linked by @studio-sagan above.
Undo the tension until it is definitely too loose then gradually tighten and retry until it grips without clicking then go a fraction tighter.
Cheerio,
