Magnetic Micro USB port cables?

I saw the micro usb cable from my Raspberry Pi to my Prusa Mini+ looked a little loose, and when I went to fix it, I broke off the micro usb port from the Buddy Board.  Yahoo.  I ordered a new Buddy Board, which I'm waiting on.

While I was trying to figure out a better way to prevent this from happening again, I saw that magnetic Micro USB connectors exist.  Basically, you plug in one end to the micro USB port, which stays there, and the other end is a magnetic cable connector which can detach.  Presumably this works in a similar way to how Apple's  MagSafe connectors work - bump the cable, and it releases.  This looks like the thing I want, because I sure don't want to break the micro usb connector off of another Buddy Board.

Has anyone here set something like this up?  Has it worked well?

RE: Magnetic Micro USB port cables?

There are at least two types, 0ne has only two connections, for charge only, another has four connections for power and data

I try to make safe suggestions,You should understand the context and ensure you are happy that they are safe before attempting to apply my suggestions, what you do, is YOUR responsibility. Location Halifax UK
