Hotend pushed into the steel plate... Prints no longer stick to bed
Hi All,
Well pretty embarrassed here. I stopped a print that was not adhering to the print bed. I accidentally hit the home button on the Z-axis in Octoprint only to find that the print head was being driven into the steel sheet at the very x-axis. After I turned off the printer and moved the print head up two problems have now occurred:
1) every time I tried to do a test print the extruder nozzle clogged and big filament mess around the hot end.
2) When I try to recalibrate all the test calibrations fail.
Could I have crushed/damaged the nozzle?
I need some help here.....
Could I have crushed/damaged the nozzle?
It's certainly possible, brass is very soft.
Cheerio,
RE: Hotend pushed into the steel plate... Prints no longer stick to bed
It could have happened. At which point does the calibration fail? Mechanical when testing axes or hotend heating? You may have skewed the whole gantry or damage plastic parts, or shifted (I assume it will give in sooner than bed and Y carriage).
Check squaring of your printer, https://help.prusa3d.com/en/article/xz-axis-skew-correction-mini%5C_158518 I'd also disassemble XZ part and reassemble it together, checking for cracks and lose screws. You also get a chance to install rods properly in case they moved out of their positions.
If you get mess around hotend, insides may be damaged too - replace the nozzle, but just in case get a replacement heeater block and heatbreak. Heatsink is piece of aluminium and I believe it will hold fine, but heatbreak and nozzle can be loosened, or threads damaged., and heatbreak can be bent. Here's how to do that: https://help.prusa3d.com/en/guide/how-to-replace-a-heaterblock-heatbreak-mini-mini_122769/

Could not just happen by moving the head too low you MINDA has moved too high?

We would need a bit more detailed info -does it mean ,when you start the wizard none of the tests -fans, heating, axes etc. tests get success?
