Help upgrading firmware
Hi,
The new firmware got released, and I was excited to try it out. But upgrading isn’t working for me 🙂
When I follow the instructions (start, insert stick, restart), nothing happens. I’m using a 8Gb kingston usb drive, btw.
When trying to push the knob during reboot, I get an error message ”#4 error mounting usb drive”.
Same thing with another usb stick.
Is there another way to upgrade firmware? Any other things I could try?
same problem
wanted to upgrade my mini to the latest firmware and I used the Prusa stick, got the red message as I always do (prints fine even though I get the message) but no update, formated the USB drive, and only left one file (firmware file) same problem, switched to another drive, no more red error, but also not upgrading the firmware... how do I do this?
RE: Help upgrading firmware
try pressing several times the knob while bootloader screen appears. If You press the knob without any usb inserted it gives You red screen.

Lol, a weird thing just happened. I was going to try that suggestion, but now the mini just upgraded the firmware on first boot 🙂 Oh well.

oddly same thing happened to me ?.... very weird lol
RE: Help upgrading firmware
I just did a firmware update on my Prusa Mini. In the menu, there is a "Flash Firmware" option which seek and install the firmware off of the USB drive.

Which menu? Tried to find something like this earlier and could not. The manual does not mention such option.
Now I managed to install the 4.3.2 beta firmware, which should fix these USB issues, also the problem where the usb drive is not detected during bootup. Fingers crossed on the next fw upgrade 🤞
RE: Help upgrading firmware
Hi. I had the same problem. After inserting the USB stick nothing happened. Then I had a thought. Instead of using a 4GB memory stick (which works perfectly with g-codes), I placed the new firmware on a 2GB USB stick. Success. The printer found the firmware and applied the update.
in summary, if your firmware update fails to start, use a USB stick no bigger than 2GB.
