Firmware 4.4.0 - now loads OLDEST file first?!
Before 4.4.0, if you inserted a USB stick, very convienently the HMI would load up the newest file you sliced and this enabled true, one-button printing:
-Insert USB Stick
-Push Print
done!
Now, with 4.4.0, it loads the oldest file on the USB stick... requiring you to back out of that menu, go to the Print menu, spin the dial all the way up the list... pick the file you want, then hit print.
This is such a huge regression in usability!
Hopefully this can be fixed on the next release?

Seems this is fixed in 4.4.1 which was just released today.

It actually seems it is worse than this, it seems to be at random what file it will pull up. I cannot figure out what the pattern is. Anyone else have any ideas?

Thank you for the link. Unfortunately those instructions don't seem to help or work as there are no menus corresponding to that on the MINI under firmware 4.4.0.

Oops! I wasn't paying proper attention...
I don't think you have much control over the order on a Mini.
But it's good practice not to let any directory get too full, group each project's files together - that way you can re-use descriptive names without mixing up your files; and delete each project from removable media once it's no longer current.

Thank you and I appreciate the suggestions. I only have a few files on the USB stick. Sadly what has happened is something has "broken" between 4.4.0, and whatever the latest previous version was. On all previous versions, the behaviour was:
- Slice a file in Prusa Slicer
- Put it on the USB Stick
- Remove the USB Stick from the computer
- Insert the USB Stick in the printer
- The file you just sliced, would pop up on the screen automatically.
- Press the dial button in once, and the file is printed.
This is great because it is true, functional, one-button printing!
But now, after upgrading to 4.4.0.. this is not the case. A random file appears, without any pattern. At first to me it seemed it was the oldest file (not the newest) but that is not always the case. I can't figure out what the new pattern is. I also don't understand why the Prusa software folks would change this, as this was such a nice feature.
So I am just hoping that somehow, the Prusa folks will see this is an issue (and why) and make it go back to how it was.
I am going to try and go back to the previous version as I see no other benefits functionally in 4.4.0 that would make it seem better than the previous version.

I have the same problem. When I insert the USB stick into my mini it pops up the preview of a file BUT not the newest file which is usually the one I want to print.
It's not completely random because the same file pops up every time. It's not the newest, oldest, smallest or largest but always the same file.

Any ideas on when this will be resolved? This is so annoying, all we had to do previously was insert the USB stick and press one button to print. Now it's an inconvenient multi-step process going back to a menu, finding the file, hitting print... this is a regression in functionality.

Seems this is fixed in 4.4.1 which was just released today.
