Does the Mini have a long term pause and resume function.

Can you pause the Mini for several hours, and then resume? I don't like the idea of leaving the machine printing when I can not monitor it, but I have to go to work and sleep sometime.

If it does have this feature, does it work well? I know some printers can do this, and it is best to pause on the infil to avoid causing defects on the visible surface.

I haven't ordered my Mini, yet, but this is kind of an important feature for me. It would be my first 3D printer.

Apparently the i3 can do this,  but no-one has mentioned whether it can be done on the mini, yet.

The mini does have a pause feature, but I can't remember if it also turns off the heaters. You can't power it off and hope to resume it in any way though, it has no way to remember what position it was in.

The advice I've seen elsewhere is that it depends on the size of your print. If you turn off the heaters you are at risk of the part releasing from the bed during the cool down / warm up sequences. You could cool the hot end and leave the bed hot if you were  OK with that. There are also options for remote monitoring & control Octoprint and Spaghetti Detective spring to mind.

I think PLA should be fine to cool the bed unless it's a part with very small contact area, it sticks very well and doesn't come off easily when cooled. PETG will just pop off on its own though.
