Changed the nozzle / ptfe in heatbreak now having printing issues

Had a major print fail where the filament wrapped around the nozzle and the heat break. Melted it all off and then just changed the nozzle / heat break ptfe because it was coated in filament. Since the changes, my prints are all crazy. Also, the environment humidity has increased to 52% in Oregon. Filament remains in a dry box at 25% humidity. Mentioning this as I am wondering if this is now contributing to my issues. Here are photos of the 1) original print fail 2) 1st layer calibration after firmware update

I'm not the best to assess anything from pictures but from the 2nd one, I'd say you're Live Z is way off from where it needs to be. You can see through the square, all individual strands of filament. It's more likely than not that any work on the extruder requires recalibrating Live Z. I'd go a lot lower.

Yes, @fuchsr is right, your first layer Z is not low enough, not squished enough.

At the end of the calibration you are aiming to print a single layer *sheet*. It should be possible to peel it off in one and fold it without the threads seperating. If it breaks into lines it is too high, not squished enough. If it is a single sheet but with wavy lines or drag marks on it you are too low.

Cheerio,

Thank you

I will give that a try. Oddly, all of this was printed at the exact same Live Z level. I was just hoping to see how it would print based on the 1st layer but it seems like the Z live actually moved during the print bc the print’s first layer looks much different than the Z live of the 1st layer calibration. I will try lower when I get home from work.
