Burn in at display at longer idle?

Hi there,

I don't have the problem, yet but why not ask first to avoid a problem instead of crying afterwards 😉

I wonder if there's any chance my display could get a burn in when idling for too long. Often, prints are started in the evening and finish some time in the night and the printer idles for some time. It cools down so temperature and energy consumption are not a problem but won't this damage the display after a while?

How do you guys tackle this? Is there an auto shut off feature?

Burn-in isn't an issue with LCDs and MINI's screen is of that type. It happened a lot with ancient CRTs, plasma, it's also (still?) a consideration with OLED but not with properly driven LCDs. If anything, I'd say the screen's LED backlight (the component that makes it light up) is of more limited life-span than the LCD itself but IMHO that's still not worth worrying about.
