Printing .10 layers in vase mode - need some help to close up the holes
Hi all,
I'm trying to print the soy fish from Harcuri ( https://www.printables.com/model/609811-soy-fish-lamp-reworked)
resized it down to 20% to fit my needs but with a .10 layer height (.4 nozzle) is causing some holes to appear in the tail area. Is there anything I can do to fix this or it's just the size of the model and the limitations of my nozzle/setup that is stopping me?

Try a smaller layer height to get more overlap between layers.
Probably need to increase cooling or reduce print temperature to prevent overheating.
reducing model size often causes complexity to printing models

Appreciate the advice.
Am trying a lower height on the last few layers and will report back!

If you cut most of the model off, you can reduce the print time for testing changes

Unfortunately nothing works. Probably a combination of shrunken model and geometry on the part.
Thank you for the help.
RE:
The top is so shallow that even the sliced preview shows a bit of a hole. I'd try increasing the extrusion width to compensate.
I don't know what the max would be or exactly what size you should use, but the sliced preview for a 0.6mm width looks pretty good:

Heya Bacon,
Tried fattening out the extrusion but even with ironing it still leaves a gap.
Even played around with some overextrusion and flow multiplier but the best I can get is a 1-2mm hole on top. Just doesn't want to seem to close up.
Guess this is the best its gonna get as the final layers and as you say very flat and thin.
