Why is there no spaghetti print detection / automatic stopping failed prints?

Just a thought: Why is there no feature where for example Prusa Connet does some AI magic on the webcam picture to detect a failed print that produces spaghettimess on the buildplate and pauses the printer for manual review?

Nobody wants his overnight print result in 200g of spaghetti (like mine did last night).

Because the camera support is so rudimentary, to use a polite phrase. To do spaghetti detection properly I think they'd have to build a camera into the printer and significantly improve their firmware support.

They won't even give us live stream only picture every 10 seconds so for them to give us ai detection will be a shock although somepeople could work on something yo add to prusalink I wonder how hard that would be

Please help me out by downloading a model it's free and easy but really helps me out https://www.printables.com/@Hello_474427/models

One picture every ten minutes or so is enough for spaghetti detection - the big constraint is the need for a computer with enough power to run the AI, Raspberry Pi's are enough but the printer's own processor would struggle.  So, it should be easy enough IF you can dedicate a spaghetti detection server - something that should be doable for a print farm with  bunch of ordinary webcams but a bit much for most one-printer users.

Cheerio,

Just saw a video ofvthe bambu a1 mini with integrated webcam.

I bet they will integrate such a feature within a year.

but im not hating Prusa here. They come from the 3D printing/manufacturing side and have to compete with chinese labour cost.

Building software is a different beast.

We don't have it, because we have not made it yet. There are bugs and features that take priority. For example, providing a way to connect a camera to an MK4, XL or MINI, that's not a whole flippin smartphone
