I love using stuff i already have because they cost me zero money. So an old iPhone (5S and up, because you need iOS 12.x for a safari version to work with the code from prusa) is perfect, iPhones are known for their good cameras and there are plenty of mounting options (3d printable) around. I use one for my XL. Add a usb adapter and a little longer cable for power and you get a perfect image every 30sec per wifi.

Sure this does work only not for timelapsing. So you leave your phone on the whole time? Manually start the safari cam up every time you need it?

Yeah timelapse is a no go this way, i only use the cam for controlling the printer wether everything works ok. The printer is not at my home so i really love the control from afar. For me it was all about having no costs at all - using a usb charger with 4 ports, using it for 3 iPhones atm (2 more Mini+) with old iPhones works perfectly for me, ohh and i have the phones under power 24/7 (the batteries are crap in those old phoes anyways).
