Use USB Camera with Prusa Link
Hi i have just installed Prusa Link on my Raspberry PI Zero W which i had laying around. No problems so far. Besides that i still have my Raspberry PI 2B as a back up with Octoprint installed (might upgrade to a 4 soon) i was wondering if i could use my old Logitech C270 with Prusa Link? I currently have it attached to my Octoprint but i would love to use PrusaLink with it as i find the PrusaLink quiet nice so far.
AFAICT cameras are not yet implemented but they're being worked on ...
Cheerio,
RE: Use USB Camera with Prusa Link
Hi, yes, the new version of PrusaLink will have usb camera support. Coming either monday - tuesday, or next year. Here's hoping 🙃
RE: Use USB Camera with Prusa Link
That sounds wonderful, looking forward to it as i really start to like the PrusaLink! Thanks for the wonderful software looking forward to what you guys add in the future!
RE: Use USB Camera with Prusa Link
Hi
As webcam working on USB now, how's work? Just plug it on the small USB from the RPI0W2 then it's appears on the connect.? Or have some specifications abt the webcam and plug?
I tried with android phone its easy and work well but would prefer to use old webcam..
Thx
RE: Use USB Camera with Prusa Link
Yes, on the rc2 it should be as easy as connecting the camera to the pi. To show it in connect, you will need to enable it under the cameras section in PrusaLink web interface.
RE: Use USB Camera with Prusa Link
Hello Tojik and all prusa users, happy NY printing.. 😊 🍾 🥂
just load and install the rc2 ..let's see...keep in touch...
RE: Use USB Camera with Prusa Link
it's not the right post i assume, but had problem to install the prusa connect as it's just say to download the ini files and load !!!! but after while i use the hostname.local then i could have the display to add the printer and the link opened very fast with the cameras now , i just need to plug one 😊
maybe it's important to write on beginner or new user that point
RE: Use USB Camera with Prusa Link
Sorry, I don't understand that. It almost sounds like you had no issue at all, but your post says "problem", so you probably had. Cannot deduce what was it tho. Sorry, maybe try in french, so I can ask someone to translate it for me
RE: Use USB Camera with Prusa Link
Well Tojik yes and no i had problem with the new rc2 not to install with the rpi02 i use the im1.6.2 so far no prob but then i had when i started the prusa connect with my IP adress and can't install new printer , and it's only work when i choose the http....hostname.local then prusa connect opened correctly and could have the correct set up for my printer...
at today all is work fine just still the prusa link don't want run on 1st time i load so i found a trick . I am on mozilla so i run the prusa link window = nothing work sure , then close and put my printer ON and then reload the prusa link window and then work well..
hope i am clear..
RE: Use USB Camera with Prusa Link
You have a problem with PrusaLink - the local interface is not opening on the first try using Firefox. I'd say show me the problem using video, so we don't have to rely on language. I asked ChatGPT to try and make sense of your message. This is the first time I've seen it be unsure about something 😀
I am confused about a few things, like what is the "im1.6.2" then you seem to mix Connect and PrusaLink around. This is a problem created by us when we called PrusaLink "Prusa Connect Local"
One might think that you expect PrusaLink to work when your printer is off. That should not be the case. Especially if your RaspberryPi is powered from your printer.
I am glad that you are able to get it to work, but i am really stuck trying to understand stuff you say.
Maybe try to talk to ChatGPT until you make it understand your problem, then give me that chat history. Bonus points, it can understand french too.
i do not mean to be offensive, I'm just searching for solutions here.
RE: Use USB Camera with Prusa Link
Hello Tojik
bonne lecture 😉
RE: Use USB Camera with Prusa Link
That behavior is weird. Never seen anything like that. The buttons to load and unload filament should be visible. The only time they're not is when the printer thinks it's USB printing, but that should go away after 10s or so.
RE: Use USB Camera with Prusa Link
well that what i had..i could change T° and stop or continue as i was in a middle of a print and have to change filament , but the function on the mk3 to unload or load wasn't visible..!!
