PrusaLink on iOS
Hello everyone! I am a relatively new Mk4 owner, (also my first 3D printer!) and so far its been awesome. I'm still learning of course but I'm really happy with the decision to both get a printer, and for it to be the Mk4.
When I first tried to use PrusaLink on my iPhone (with Safari) I was having the same problems others have reported on the forums where it kept asking for the credentials over and over, but never loading the page. Because of this, I put together an iOS app that allows you to view PrusaLink from your device!
The project for this can be found on GitHub here: https://github.com/dunkmann00/PrusaLinkiOS
I hope its okay to post something like this here on the forum. I just wanted to share it in case there are others that might find it useful!
RE: PrusaLink on iOS
Thank you very much for this app. It is very useful.
RE: PrusaLink on iOS
Thanks, just loaded PrusaLinkiOS onto my Ipad...plan on using it after building my MK4
Great stuff.

RE: PrusaLink on iOS
Beginning with Monterey, Mx Macs can run IOS apps. I use it this way. Thanks @dunkman00 for a very useful app.

RE: PrusaLink on iOS
@dunkmann00 I love your tool and use it regularly. Great work, thanks for that!
If you should ever have the burning wish to add something to the app but no inspiration, here's something that would be totally awesome:
I have a Beagle Camera V2 and the MK4. I typically don't print over the Beagle, I just use it as a webcam for monitoring what the printer does. The internal web server of the Beagle does provide a video feed, but the UI is practically useless on a phone browser... If one could grab the video feed from the Beagle and display it alongside the PrusaLink UI in an app like yours, that would be crazy cool.
I totally understand that this is probably a hobby project and I wouldn't dare assuming that you take feature requests. I just wanted to mention this as an idea, really. But if you should be thrilled by the challenge and are only held back by a lack of hardware to test, I might be inclined to sponsor a Beagle V2 as a little incentive. 😀
RE: PrusaLink on iOS
Hello everyone and thanks for the kind words! Sorry I have not been able to respond to you faster.
RE: PrusaLink on iOS
I hadn't originally thought about that but if you are interested I will certainly consider it 👍
RE: PrusaLink on iOS
I just released a new version of the app (1.1) last night. It should be live on the App Store now and it supports multiple printers!
RE: PrusaLink on iOS
Thanks @zappes! Glad you are finding the app useful. Ever since I have gotten the 3d printer I wouldn't say a lack of inspiration for making things has been an issue...lack of time however...
But it is funny you bring up the camera idea because I thought it interesting that you can add a phone camera to PrusaConnect but not PrusaLink, like what's the deal with that! So I wouldn't say I have plans to add camera functionality (wouldn't want to set any expectations), but I certainly do find the idea interesting.
I appreciate the Beagle v2 offer, but I don't think I could accept! Very nice of you though. I had never heard of them and just checked out their site, pretty neat product, may look into getting one for the same reason you use yours (and it seems they have some discounts at the moment).
And I am definitely open to any feature requests you have! The best place to leave them would be in the GitHub repo (just open an issue), but this forum is a good place as well.
RE: PrusaLink on iOS
The new version works great! Many thanks for making multiple printers possible. It took me a while to find that dragging down on the screen would populate the screen values on a newly created printer, but after that all has been well.
RE: PrusaLink on iOS
@dunkmann00 I just starred the repository and will have a look at the issue tracker. If I have a good idea that's not in there, I will do my best to write proper feature request. As I am a software architect by profession, I hope that I'll be able to produce something useful. 🙂
RE: PrusaLink on iOS
You are awesome!
thank you for the great app.
