PrusaLink MK4

Is it normal to have no information in Prusa Link?

RE: PrusaLink MK4

Your PrusaLink user interface is tied to the firmware version, unlike on the MK3, where PrusaLink is it's own app. Therefore I think this is expected. Mine looks the same

The one for the Pi uses the same web UI as the other ones. The app is very different. There is no linux on the MK4, it cannot run PrusaLink the same way it runs on a Pi

Sounds like they need a Pi Zero riser on the new boards then, especially with this speed issue ive been seeing (15 hours to get a 122Mb print file negates ANY speed the Nextruder might have over an Mk3).

RE: PrusaLink MK4

There appears to be a "bug" maybe hardware level in the ESP that has data corruption issues moving data thats connected to Ethernet (as far as i am aware), it results in connections of kb/s, so most prints even small ones can take hours to get to the printer....

Also the PrusaLink interface is nowhere near as "full" as the one on the Pi, its not a PC, coupled with very low space to store pages, you cant do as much... having a Pi Zero inside the XL and Mk4 would be way better as it could have a camera as well then.

Many Thanks

As a side effect, the printer wouldn't exist. Cause you still can't get them

RE: PrusaLink MK4

You assumption being not able to get the IC, i am looking in to this now, well the Mk3s has a riser, so its an add in board post production.  I notice they now have a Pi Compute module which appears to be a DIMM design, so all that needs is an onboard DIMM slot, while still using the onboard Ethernet and WiFi connection, except routed to the DIMM slot and used via the Pi Compute Module DIMM add in module... checking on this now, if its a DIMM then no soldering or printed parts are required to add the card, as copper RJ45, WiFi and an onboard SD card slot would already be on the board, only the extra DIMM board is required after.  Everyone is happy, XL and Mk4 has the same board and PrusaLink gets a small Linux install thats just a DIMM size board thats added after, and uses an internal SD card slot

Many Thanks

RE: PrusaLink MK4

I don't know the design decisions to any level of detail. I am a prusalink for the mk3 dev. I was told sourcing anything usable was hard.  Who knows what were the other ideas floating around. for all i know a UART connection might be available, and there is still a usb port. Everything is at the mercy of software now

This is the Pi Compute Module 3, in a DIMM format, allow development exactly for this kinda situation.

Many Thanks
