PrusaLink doesn't allow connections on MK4?

I'm trying to get this MK4 on the network, and it is staggering at how good of a printer this can be, but how ... inefficient the rest of the experience is.

I set up Wifi, and got connected. That was pretty simple.

I have PrusaLink enabled.
I see the page that tells me my username is "maker" and then specifies a password

I enable a browser and connect to http://<my printer ip>, and get the login page.
I type in the username and password, and am continually prompted for the username and password.
I click the "Generate Password" button, and get a new password.
I have been trying to enter that new password for the past 20 minutes, and can't get any further.

Is there something I'm missing?
I recognize that the Prusa doesn't support HTTPS, fine. But is there something else missing?

I have PrusaConnect configured as well, and that appears to be connected right now.

Pro tip, the password is the PrusaLink API key reported in Connect settings. It makes it easy to copy paste.

Also, I would take a guess and say you are an Apple user. I've heared the prompt is broken like this in safari, but I could be wrong.

The network interface is still pretty new and with the release, there is a LOT of bugs to squash. If you can help it, just avoid what's broken for now. The uploads from slicer should still work, even if slow over the wifi. I can assure you that we are aware and that progress is being made.

Sorry about these bugs and sorry, i do not know how does the re-generate password thing works, did not try it yet. I would try the oldest trick in the book. Powercycle it.

powercycled it a ton of times, and no difference.

the API key is different than the password that displays on the board.
You are 100% right in that I'm in an apple environment- I can't connect via Chrome or Safari on OSX or iOS, unfortunately.

So "avoiding what's broken right now" is pretty much all of PrusaLink, and PrusaConnect, which keeps disconnecting/reconnecting errors.
it take 5 hours to download a file, so it's /argubly/ not broken,  but it's certainly not functional.  I'll take the pain of walking a USB stick around the house.

RE:

Yup, Connect is having a real bad time today. It's usually stable. The downloads over wifi tho, those definitely need improving.

My API key is the same as the password, but I have not re-generated mine. I am not involved with the development of PrusaLink for the MK4 but I can ask around if you want to.

I'm so used to PrusaLink being jest the MK3 and me knowing how that works that this is catching me a little off guard.

Just for the record. I'm a dev, not a real official support tech, official support remains on live chat and email. Again, sorry for the trouble, I hope it gets resolved soon.

Hi, we know about one instance, where the user had to enter the password three times.
Please check if you can, whether the password shown on the printer screen is the same as the one in connect settings under PrusaLink API key. Either way, the API key and the password are the same value as of now.

When you'd mentioned this last week, I checked- and i did not see two separate API keys.
I saw the prusaConnect API key, but if there was a PrusaLink API Key, it was a -.

I tried connecting to PrusaConnect off a chromebook (rather than IOS) and connected the first time immediately- and now I can log in via a macbook or iphone.

I'd been using chrome and safari but had been unable to connect.

I can't _prove_ that the connection from the Chromebook is what triggered it working, but it's been stable since then.

I don't know when the PrusaLink API key showed up in prusaConnect.

Same situation here. Multiple attempts with Safari on MacOS 13.3 did finally work. Same issue on iOS and iPadOS and of course in all browsers on those OSes as I think all browsers still require to use Apple's WebKit.
