PRUSA Connect Timelapse Snapshot save and gcode integration.
Is there a way to create a script with the Prusa link camera to save a snapshot to the printer's sd card or anywhere to download later?
Second, can a gcode be implemented to the printer to do timelapse photo captures with the Prusa connect camera? I would imagine a camera trigger scheme option would need to be implemented such as on gcode that would retract and move the print head to a specific location before saving the camera screenshot then resuming.
Not sure if this is a feature request or something that can be done with a few scripts. I don't know where to start to save the images automatically from prusa link. As for the gcode I am sure I can find somewhere.
Open to all ideas and thoughts on this.
RE: PRUSA Connect Timelapse Snapshot save and gcode integration.
1. snapshot with prusalink - nope, it's way easier to remove pendrive/sdcard and do it, especially when you have cards of the size of gigabytes and wifi modules on the printers are a bit low speed.
2. Timelapse gcode - adding it to the printer itself would require inputting some data to simulate where the button is, and this would be a bit tedious task when doing coordinates/moves via rotational controller via menu...
Still, it would have to detect layer changes but with different gcode generators that may not generate comments compatible with given printer it would be super hard to detect layer change. Thus it is better to do it in the slicer software.

I would love to have it save the photo snapped by Prusa link automatically.
Also, what does the MANUEL option do in the trigger scheme? is there any API for it yet?
I would love to be able to add the gcode in my printer per your link and have pursa link save the snapped shot or within the gcode have the printer trigger save the snapshot via the API.
I don't know if this is just too complex.
Thanks for the reply and thoughts.

hi, manual trigger has an api to trigger a photo, you could possibly have a script that makes a timelapse this way, but i'm sure there are simpler ways to achieve a timelapse

I would love to try this... where can I find the API and how to use it?
