Prusa Connect Failures and Repeated Resets
Feedback:
Not happy over the latest changes to prusa connect and that, once again, prusa has lost my printer data requiring that painful process to re-sub to the site. This is unsat and inelegant coding to not remain b/w compat w/your own dataset. Like before, when tech support had me reflash the firmware losing all previous print data in the process and resetting my printer basically to zero.
Why is prusa connect not linked to your prusa.com account and keeping track of your activity there? There's this thing called the "cloud"...
Also extremely irritating that the feedback option was removed from prusa connect - like, what, you're done now?
When you start willingly putting barriers in front of your users is right about the time they start looking for better alternatives.
I know you can do better than this if you bring your software development to the same standards of your hardware team.
RE: Prusa Connect Failures and Repeated Resets
I'm totally mystified how you lose the data relationship between entities "users" and "printers". Can you even scale?
RE: Prusa Connect Failures and Repeated Resets
Not sure I'm following. In my hands, I log in to Prusa Connect and the data is all linked to my Prusa account. And linked over the cloud as it shows up on all my computers and the phone.
And the feedback option is still in the lower right corner, as a question mark. It may not show up though if you're not logged in.

RE: Prusa Connect Failures and Repeated Resets
Printer shows as network connected, prusa slicer sees printer, usb is fine, but printer will no longer print from prusa slicer:
Error uploading to print host:HTTP 400: The file was uploaded to Connect but cannot be downloaded to printer mk4 because of its OFFLINE state.
Rebooted, reset, reseated all the things but the printer is still autistic as far as the slicer is concerned.
No problem printing with octoprint tho
RE: Prusa Connect Failures and Repeated Resets
And I still have zero history, zero statistics. For the second time in under a year, all my print data is gone.
Printer shows as "Ready" on the dash and in the Network->status on-screen.
Looks like another call to support.
