Prusa Connect Download Error

Hi,

I have had this happen to me a few times now and dont understand why? When I try to load GCode into connect it gives me an error message "connection storage data exceeded" but the flash drive has very few files on it and this project size is only about 160kb so I am a little confused??

How much data have you got on the connect server?

Hi, I am not 100% sure where to find that information but if I look into the Connect printer files page it shows 31g free space?? Is this what you need?

That's the usb stick spare memory. I'm not in front of my PC at the moment so can't do a screen grab, when you first go into Connect, at the top next to the help and forum links there is a link called "Connect Files". If you click on that link you will see a little down from the top a percentage and a bit that says "x of 1.0GB", that and the percentage are the interesting numbers.

Right, that's your problem.

Connect gives 1GB of online storage, which some people use to store gcode for things the regularly print. In my experience most people just use it to pass data through. When you send a job via Connect, either using the Web interface or from the slicer it goes to the Connect Server which stores it then passes it on to the printer. If you keep doing it and never clean it out eventually it fill up and won't let you upload anything more, which is what has happened to you.

As you didn't know the storage was there, it is probably safe to delete everything from that page or alternatively you can selectively delete files.

Personally I just go into that page periodically and blow everything away. Anything I want to keep, I keep on my PC.

For reference if you send via Link it does not go to the server so never fills up but as I prefer the ui on Connect I always use that.

Great information and thank you for sharing. Would I just delete these files for print history, query history, or both?

I also learned Connect stores the available space on the drive. Didn't see that either:)

No, go into the "Connect Files" link where you took the last screen grab. To the right of the percentage number there is a check box, select that and garbage bin should appear, click on that and the stored files should all go.

I'm doing this from memory as I am not near a PC so you might have to interpret those instructions, but if they are insufficient I'll do you a step by step in the morning when I have a PC

No problem

You can do it while printing safely enough as deleting the server files does not affect the printer, and if you try and delete from the wrong place it won't let you delete a job in progress
