PI-camera not found where is the problem????

Hi everyone, I apologize in advance for my imperfect English. A few weeks ago I installed a Rasberry Pi Zero W on my mk3s For remote control with Prusa Connect and so far everything is perfect Remote control start print everything normal, I also purchased a picamera 1.3 cam module (Atermarket not original rasberry) naturally with relative csi adapter cable from picamera module to pi-zero, the problem is that prusa connect does not see the cam now I would like to understand if I am wrong in the procedure or is the cam not suitable purpose? thanks for the assistance

Hi, I assume you use the MK3/S/+ please go into PrusaLink web interface and click the camera tab. Do you see the camera in there? Click the switch on the top right of the camera item. It should go orange. That should register the camera with connect and start sending pictures.
If you don't see the camera in there, please check your camera connection, the ribbon cable has two side and only one orientation is correct, it can be very finicky to get it working. Also, if you have an older PrusaLink, please update to 0.7.2. Thank you

I don't see any cameras on the Prusa Connect page, I've rechecked the wiring several times and everything is ok. I'm thinking the camera is broken I don't know what else to think

You keep saying Prusa Connect page. I told you to go check local PrusaLink

So, PrusaLink - the local thing giving you a web interface to your printer
Prusa Connect - the webpage that lets you control multiple printers over the internet.

Please do differentiate between the two

I understand you are referring to the local connection via IP addresses... the problem is that I don't remember the user and password, is there a way to reset the password

You can take out the sd card from the pi, put it in your computer and put a blank file called prusa_printer_settings.ini on the partition that shows up, that should reset it so you can do the wizard again. If that doesn't work, please flash PrusaLink on the SD again

The reason we need to use the local PrusaLink web interface is that cameras are not registered with connect by default, you need to tell the pi to start sending the pics from those to Connect. Having it on by default would feel kinda evil.

it finally works!!!! after having reconfigured the SD card and used Prusa Link or verified that the cover should be opened, press on the contacts of the picamera module making it disconnect. I fixed it with hot glue and modified the part

RE:

Not sure if I should start a new thread, but I have encountered a camera connection error as well. My camera seems to link for a few seconds every 30 seconds. It then unlinks, but no photo is loaded. Screen record is included.

I installed the Pi zero and camera last week, and it worked well. I re-imaged the Pi Zero today with 0.7.2. Printer is Mk3S+ with 3.13.3-7094 firmware.

Hi, can you send me the log found in the settings tab? I would like the syslog file. You can zip it, that should reduce its size a lot.

This suggests something weird in your setup. Do you have a special raspi in any way? Like a clone, or a totally different board, or some pi we have not tested like a compute module or 5? The photo taking thing fails to set up the jpeg encoding for some reason we don't get to know why exactly tho. Any custom configuration like dtoverlay? Anything else worth mentioning Thanks

RE: PI-camera not found where is the problem????

Note:

  • Pi is pre-soldered Zero from Prusa website: https://www.prusa3d.com/product/raspberry-pi-zero-for-prusalink/
  • I have printed the frame per the tutorial.
  • I thought it might be software related on the Prusalink side, because the camera did work correctly when I first installed it a few weeks ago.
  • Odd that everything else works, just camera functionality stopped.
  • I have been connecting and disconnecting the Pi and camera as I determine best ribbon cable routing. It is possible something on the board or camera was damaged when I was doing this.
  • I'll try new camera module and see if that is the problem.

Thanks!

If you haven't changed anything on the rpi then check the ribbon cable between rpi and camera and the micro attachment on the camera board between the board and the camera.

Do it when rpi is disconnected from any power source or other cables.

See my GitHub and printables.com for some 3d stuff that you may like.
