I love PrusaConnect but...

After one week of using PrusaConnect I must say I love it, but it have a HUGE problem.

It simply does not makes sense that it must upload a file to cloud and then download to my printer if I am on the same WiFi network.

9 minutes to transfer a 38MB file to my printer makes no sense.

Any thoughts on that?

Best regards,
Alex

As a workaround you can of course send the sliced model directly from Prusaslicer to your printer.

Thanks for the response, what do you mean directly? Using the USB?

RE: I love PrusaConnect but...

If you set up a physical printer with your local printer's Prusalink wifi or ethernet connection info, files will be send directly to the printer without going through the PrusaConnect cloud layer.

With the latest firmware upgrades and the switch to binary gcode, it's still not a speed demon but drastically improved over where they started, and it shouldn't take 9 minutes for a file that size.

The network transfer to the printer is still slow. But with printing being able to start as the file is downloading and bgcodes being significantly smaller, it should not negatively impact you anymore.

Yes, I recently discovered that, as soon as the orange bar is full (super fast) you can start printing, you don't need to wait for the blue bar to finish.

I wrote code to keep all my printers local USB Drives in sync. Connect see those files (after some time) and is able to start prints of them.
