How "Print Queue" works ?

I saw there is a print queue but I never use it because I don't know its behaviour exactly...

I would like basically to be able to add to the queue several prints, but when one finishes, I don't want the printer to automatically start the second one because I need to check the print and clean up the sheet.

How does the print queue work exactly ?

Thanks!

I got my answer... it's not automatic: printer is waiting for us to clean the bed and them click on the READY button. Nice 🙂

Yup, there is a magic file you can make appear by adding a folder called "PrusaLink menu" to your SD card. See RC1 release notes: https://github.com/prusa3d/Prusa-Link/releases/tag/0.7.0.rc1

Oh nice!!! I was clicking on the web interface but I though too that something on the printer would be better! Now I have it 🙂 Thanks!

RE:

It is a nasty hack, Please let me know how did the printer respond when you inserted the SD with a newly created PrusaLink menu folder. Did it work the first time? Did it require a reset?

The setready file was created after a reset yes. Didn't try it yet, will do next print 😉

RE: How "Print Queue" works ?

I just did this on a couple of my printers.

Printer #1 (3.12.0-RC2)

  • created folder instantly

Printer #2 (3.11.0-4955)

  • required reset to create folder

Printer #3 (3.11.0-4955)

  • required reset to create folder

How does a print queue operate differently when you are using Farm mode? I still don't understand what Farm mode does - there doesn't seem to be any documentation for it.

Farm mode is internal, it was most likely created to support the requests of the guy making our farm management software. This is a guess, maybe i'm underselling it

Im having a hard time getting this work. I tried multiple sd cards and reset everything. Currently running FW 3.12.1

Is the gcode printer specific? Meaning if someone uploaded this setready.gcode could it be copy pasted to other sd cards?

I forgot to tell you that it's working perfectly for me. I have only one printer through so easy use case. Clicking on READY button works, but most of the time I select this READY file on sd card and next print starts. I really love this feature. I have 2 build plates and swap them fast and start the new print.
