Z axis returning to zero after print completes

My printer is exhibiting this odd behavior where the z axis returns to zero once a print is complete. As you can see in these pictures, it didn’t wreck, but if the print was larger it would have. I am relatively new at 3D printing (I did some back in college in the early 2000’s) and not sure if this is an issue with the Prusa Slicer or the printer. Any suggestions on where to go from here??

RE: Z axis returning to zero after print completes

I believe this issue has been raised—and addressed quite a few times lately. E.g., see https://forum.prusa3d.com/forum/hardware-firmware-and-software-help/when-printing-is-complete-the-head-moves-to-the-z-1-position/#post-593659.

Solution: Make sure firmware and slicer software are on the most recent version.

The forum software doesn't have a great search engine, but even google isn't doing a great job on this one.

Formerly known on this forum as @fuchsr -- until all hell broke loose with the forum software...

Thanks, and yes, I’ve been searching and haven’t been able to find anything. Thanks for the reply!
