What do I do when the hot end leaks filament while printing?

I recently replaced the nozzle on my mini+, and noticed it was leaking melted filament out of the top of the hot end. I had a hard time admittedly getting the nozzle in and think I might have stripped the threads of the hot end. Should I just scrap the entire hot end now that filament has leaked out? Or is this salvageable?

I presume you followed:  https://help.prusa3d.com/article/changing-replacing-the-nozzle-mini_134235

Take particular note of the diagrams at the bottom of the page.

If you have stripped the thread then yes, replacement will be necessary - but there is a chance you have merely encountered old plastic clogging the threads so it's worth one more try.

Cheerio,
